RMS: Pirate School: Sea Dreams

  • Columbia Theatre 1231 Vandercook Way Longview, WA, 98632 United States (map)

Fourth performance in the Fibre Federal Credit Union Rainy Months Series!

Tickets are very reasonably priced at $10.00 per ticket or a family pack of 4 tickets for $30.

“Pirate School: Sea Dreams!” is madcap solo family show that allows kids 4-12 and their caregivers the chance to live out their dreams of swashbuckling adventure and quench their undeniable thirst to join the briny buccaneers of yore. Led by the bumbling pirate professor, Billy Bones, children learn the finer points of light-hearted mischief through zany lessons on how to stand, talk, and laugh like sea-dogs. During “Pirate School: Sea Dreams!” cannons boom, skulls talk, cutlasses drop, critters cavort and everyone, young and old, participates in a grandiose sea-battle for their final exam.

Features of a Pirate School! experience are its signature immersive and boisterous audience participation, antic bubble-play, adept magic, eccentric props, the appearance of the World’s only wearable pirate ship and a rich score of cartoon-like sound effects created by Richard Spooner, the sound designer of TV’s ‘Bob The Builder’ and ‘Chuggington.’ ‘Pirate School: Sea Dreams!’ draws family audiences in by the boatload!

Run time 60-minutes without intermission. All ages. Children encouraged to come in costume.

About David Engel…

David respects the instincts of his audiences and intuitively connects with kids in fundamental ways. Because children crave to be part of the action, all of Mr. Engel's shows harken back to outdoor play (remember that?) and feature immersive full-audience active participation.

Parents and educators especially appreciate the wholesome, inclusive, nonviolent content and pro-social messaging subtly woven throughout his shows.

Mr. Engel is an actor with years of stage and screen experience which brings an added depth to his clown work. He’s performed major Shakespearean roles (Hamlet, Macbeth, Titus Andronicus, etc.) and has appeared in commercials, film and television

For thirteen years David worked as a clown doctor bringing stress-reducing humor to pediatric hospitals with the Big Apple Circus’ world-renowned in-hospital Clown Care Program. David continues to offer outreach at pediatric hospitals and sensory sensitive shows.

Also noteworthy is his work as a Human Statue, performing at corporate & private events and international festivals. His work has won various professional awards and been featured in New York Magazine’s “BEST OF NY: KIDS!”

David is punctual, committed, adaptable professional and strives to inspire empathy, social-courage and the skill of focus with today’s increasingly distractible youth.
