Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts

Celebrate four generations of history at the Columbia Theatre. Experience the fun and excitement of a working vaudeville theatre. Antique cars & historic stagecoach, 1925 movie house with Charlie Chaplin shorts and historical film clips; reenactments with local celebrities who impersonate some of the Columbia’s most famous and “infamous” characters; theatrical vignettes and behind-the-scenes tours of the backstage, basement and more. Featured appearances by John Philip Sousa, RA Long, Wesley Vandercook and Theatre Manager WG Ripley.

  • Early Talkie: Alfonsina, Daughter of Peppino by Caroline Wood
  • Tapestry tap dance group: A Chorus Line
  • Broadway Musical Medley from Rainier School District: Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors and Wicked
  • Play rehearsal: RA Long: Timber Baron by Dr. Travis Cavens with Dr. Phyllis Cavens and Dr. Travis Cavens
  • Vaudeville Singing Auditions: Sue Hinshaw, her students & WG Ripley, Theatre Manager
